This DVD-R edition has been mastered from a 35mm nitrate print. The video transfer is closed-up in its shadow details that are barely visible and highlights that are occasionally blasted out to white, with some dust, speckling, schmutz, emulsion scuffing, vertical scratches, the faintest signs of beginning nitrate decomposition, filmbase wear, timing marks, and other print flaws remaining in the transfer. The source material may look better than this in reality but the picture details in this analog video transfer are only of the quality commonly associated with a very-good 16mm reduction print.
The film is accompanied by a soundtrack compiled and abruptly edited from preexisting low-fidelity monaural music recordings.
While it is not the greatest release, for now, this is our recommended home video edition of the film.
